Violet Bennett is a New York born actor working across film and theatre. She grew up in a family of singers, dancers, actors (and even marine mammal trainers), where performance and storytelling were part of daily life and understood as something joyful and generous. That value remains the core of her work.
She trained at The Barrow Group and studied Shakespeare through the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Her screen work ranges from offbeat comedies to contemporary adaptations of classical text, and her recent theatre appearances include a New York run of Molly Smith Metzler’s Cry It Out. She is especially drawn to projects that bring plays to the screen and reimagine traditionally written ingénue roles with greater agency, humor, and complexity.
Alongside acting, Violet studied psychology and cognitive science, with a focus on mindful performance at Brown and UC San Diego. She coaches actors and international executives on presence and clear communication, helping them show up with intention, ease, and joy in high stakes moments.
Outside of her work, she listens to a great deal of James Taylor and Jim Croce, firmly believes All Creatures Great and Small is the best show on television, and has made peace with the fact that her Spotify Wrapped puts her at about 71 years old.
